Nagma is a leading actress, especially in the South Indian film industry where she is treated as a goddess literally, with a temple set up by her fans. 

Basics on Nagma
Nagma was born as Nandita Morarji to Sri Arvind Pratapsinh Morarji, a Hindu textile entrepreneur and Seema Sadhana, a Muslim. Nagma who is also known a Namratha Sadhana was born on 25th December 1974 and is known to be a practicing Christian and is involved in politics too, lending her support to the Congress party.

After her parents divorced, her mother married Chander Sadhana who is a movie producer. Nagma has two half-sister by her mother’s re-marriage called Jyothika and Radhika. Jyothika is an established actress. She also has two half-brothers, Dhanraj and Yuvraj, by her father’s second marriage.

Nagma, who has had a successful career in movies since she was sixteen years old, also runs a boutique in Mumbai called Nagma’s and is an Art of Living instructor.

She has been romantically linked with various men at various times like cricketers Khiche Khan and Saurav Ganguly as well as the Tamil actor Sarath Kumar. 

Nagma’s Movies
1990 to 1995 Nagma’s debut movie was in Bollywood with Baaghi (1990) opposite Salman Khan. She played a woman who is forced into prostitution and how she escapes it with the help of her lover. The movie was one of the most successful releases that year.

She acted with Nagarjuna in Killer (1991) and Major Chandrakanth (1992) with NTR and Mohan Babu.  She worked in Hindi and Telugu movies like Parampara (1992), Kondapalli Raja (1993), Allari Alludu (1993) and King Uncle (1993). 

In Kadhalan (1994), a Tamil movie, she acted with the debut hero Prabhu Deva. The movie was a blockbuster and she won the Filmfare Best Actress Award (Tamil). Basha (1995) with Rajnikanth was also a commercial success.

1996 to 2009 She came together with her co-star from Kadhalan, Prabhu Deva, in Love Birds (1996). She played the role of Mridula whose lover dies and she is unable to cope with the loss. She was seen in a cameo role in the Amitabh Bachchan starrer Ek Rishtaa: The Bond of Love (2001). In Citizen (2001) she played a CBI officer and acted with Mohanlal in Chathurangam (2002).

She also acted in a Kannada movie Hrudayavantha (2003); a Bengali movie Pariraam (2005) and Bhojpuri movies like Panditji Batai Na Byah Kab Hoi (2005). She even won a Best Actress Award for the Bhojpuri movie Dulha Milal Dildar (2005). 

Ek Jind Ek Jaan (2006) was a Punjabi movie in which she played the part of Nimmi Kang Singh. The movie also starred Raj Babbar. 

Her other movies include Tu Hamaar Hou, a Bhojpri movie which is inspired by Darr; a Marathi movie Thamp Lakshmi Thamp and Subway.
